Message from the Dean

The UPSA Law School is delighted to be able to host Africa and the world on this platform of productive academic exchange on African trade and the AfCFTA. The end of COVID offers not only opportunities for new beginnings, but also the need to reflect anew on the prospects offered by the AfCFTA for the Africa region in terms of unleashing African innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity. Variously described with adjectives of hope and promise, the AfCFTA seemingly contains the seeds of progress and economic development in Africa for this and the coming century and this conference affords an early platform to review the progress made in the implementation of the trade deal.

On behalf of the law school, I look forward to welcoming you to the UPSA campus in May for what promises to be an immersive and engaging experience for key actors and experts of African trade and the AfCFTA.
